Typical use Of Itopride :Non-ulcer Dyspepsia (chronic Gastritis) Ie, Sensation Of Bloating, Early Satiety, Upper Abdominal Pain Or Discomfort, Anorexia, Heartburn, Nausea And Vomiting.
Mechanism of action of Itopride :Itopride Has Anticholinesterase (AchE) Activity As Well As Dopamine D2 Receptor Antagonistic Activity Through Dopamine D2 Receptor Antagonism, Removes The Inhibitory Effects On Acetylcholine (Ach) Release. It Also Inhibits The Enzyme AchE Which Prevents The Degradation Of ACh. The Net Effect Is An Increase In ACh Concentration, Which In Turn, Promotes Gastric Motility, Increases The Lower Esophageal Sphincter Pressure, Accelerates Gastric Emptying And Improves Gastro-duodenal Coordination.
Drug Interaction of Itopride :Itopride Is Known To Interact With Other Drugs Like Warfarin, Diazepam, Diclofenac Sodium, Ticlopidine HCl, Nifedipine, Nicardipine HCl. Always Consult Your Physician For The Change Of Dose Regimen Or An Alternative Drug Of Choice That May Strictly Be Required.
