Typical use Of Latanoprost :Reduction Of Elevated Intra-ocular Pressure In Patients With Primary Open Glaucoma And Ocular Hypertension.
Mechanism of action of Latanoprost :This Medication Is Prostaglandin Analog. It Binds To A Specific Receptor Of Prostaglandin, Increases The Flow Of Aqueous Humor Out Of The Eye, Thereby Reducing The Pressure Within The Eye And Reducing The Risk Of Nerve Damage And Blindness.
Drug Interaction of Latanoprost :Precipitation Occurs When Eye Drops Containing Thimerosal Are Mixed With Latanoprost. If Such Drugs Are Used, They Should Be Administered At Least Five Minutes Apart.
Side effects of Latanoprost :Brown Pigmentation Particularly In Those With Mixed-color Irides; Blepharitis, Ocular Irritation And Pain, Darkening, Thickening And Lengthening Of Eyelashes, Localised Oedema, Conjunctival Hyperaemia, Transient Punctate Epithelial Erosions, Dyspnoea, Exacerbation Of Asthma, Local Skin Reactions, Iritis, Uveitis, Darkening Of Palpebral Skin.
