Typical use Of Midazolam :All Forms Of Epilepsy, Anxiety, Induction Of Anaesthesia, Insomnia, Myoclonus, Sedation Of Patients Receiving Intensive Care, Sedation With Amnesia, Sedative In Combined Anaesthesia.
Mechanism of action of Midazolam :Benzodiazepines Such As Midazolam Increase The Activity Of GABA, Thereby Producing A Calming Effect, Relaxing Skeletal Muscles, And Inducing Sleep. Benzodiazepines Bind To The Benzodiazepine Site On GABA-A Receptors, Which Potentiates The Effects Of GABA By Increasing The Frequency Of Chloride Channel Opening.
Drug Interaction of Midazolam :Midazolam Is Known To Interact With Other Drugs Like Alcohol, Amprenavir, Cimetidine (HCl), Diltiazem (HCl), Indinavir (Sulphate), Itraconazole, Ketamine (HCl), Nelfinavir, Nevirapine, Pemoline, Ranitidine, Ritonavir, St.Johns Wort Extract, Verapamil (HCl).
