Generic ( Lidocaine )

Typical use Of Lidocaine :Information Not Available.
Mechanism of action of Lidocaine :Lidocaine Stabilizes The Neuronal Membrane By Inhibiting The Ionic Fluxes Required For The Initiation And Conduction Of Impulses Thereby Effecting Local Anesthetic Action. Lidocaine Alters Signal Conduction In Neurons By Blocking The Fast Voltage Gated Sodium (Na+) Channels In The Neuronal Cell Membrane That Are Responsible For Signal Propagation. With Sufficient Blockage The Membrane Of The Postsynaptic Neuron Will Not Depolarize And Will Thus Fail To Transmit An Action Potential. This Creates The Anaesthetic Effect By Not Merely Preventing Pain Signals From Propagating To The Brain But By Aborting Their Birth In The First Place.
Drug Interaction of Lidocaine :Lignocaine Is Known To Interact With Other Drugs Like Alcuronium (Cl), Amphotericin B, Amprenavir, Atracurium (Besylate), Cimetidine (HCl), Edrophonium (Cl), Enflurane, Fosphenytoin, Halothane, Nadolol, Oxprenolol (HCl), Pentazocine, Propafenone (HCl). Always Consult Your Physician For The Change Of Dose Regimen Or An Alternative Drug Of Choice That May Strictly Be Required.
Side effects of Lidocaine :Allergy, Hypotension, Bronchospasm, Coma, Seizures, Hypertension, Tissue Necrosis, Angina, Sinus Bradycardia, Respiratory Depression, Blurred Vision, Tremors, Respiratory Depression, Bradycardia, Convulsions, Hypersensitivity, Cardiac Arrest, CNS Toxicity, Dizziness, Headache, Drowsiness, Nausea, Vomiting, Anxiety, Restlessness, Palpitation, Nervousness, Tinnitus, Abdominal Pain, Confusion.

Typical use Of Prilocaine :Local Anaesthetic.Injectable Form Is Used In DentIstry And Intravenous Regional Anaesthesia.
Mechanism of action of Prilocaine :Prilocaine Is A Local Anaesthetic Of The Amide Group. It Has Similar Anesth Potency To Lignocaine But It Has Slower Onset Of Action, Less Vasodilator Activity And A Slightly Longer Duration Of Action; It Is Also Less Toxic.
Drug Interaction of Prilocaine :Sulfonamides, Antimalarials, Certain Nitric Compounds May Potentiate Methemoglobinemia.
Side effects of Prilocaine :Vertigo, Nausea, Hypersensitivity Reactions, Nystagmus.
