Typical use Of Cefaclor :Infections Due To Sensitive Gram-positive And Gram-negative Bacteria
Mechanism of action of Cefaclor :Cefaclor, Like The Penicillins, Is A Beta-lactam Antibiotic. By Binding To Specific Penicillin-binding Proteins Located Inside The Bacterial Cell Wall, It Inhibits The Third And Last Stage Of Bacterial Cell Wall Synthesis. Cell Lysis Is Then Mediated By Bacterial Cell Wall Autolytic Enzymes Such As Autolysins. It Is Possible That Cefaclor Interferes With An Autolysin Inhibitor.
Drug Interaction of Cefaclor :Cefaclor Is Known To Interact With Other Drugs Like Ethacrynic Acid, Frusemide Or Furosemide, Gentamicin, Probenecid, Tobramycin.
Side effects of Cefaclor :Pseudomembranous Colitis, Urticaria, Morbilliform Eruptions, Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Skin Rashes, GI Reactions, Genital Candidiasis.
